Huge congrats to our January Athlete of the Month - Josh! This guy has been quietly working hard and crushing goals over the past few months. Josh recently learnt how to do killing pull ups and is stringing them together in sets during workouts, got into a handstand for the first time, even learnt handstand push ups! Josh is an all round nice guy at the gym and always helps cheer on others. You can usually find him being distracted by one of the gym dogs Ivy and playing with her instead of his barbell! - How long have you been at CrossFit Access? 8 months
- What do you enjoy doing outside of CrossFit? Hunting and going to the gun range, also recently got into indoor wave surfing.
- What is your favourite and least favourite movements or WODs? My favourite would have to be cleans and my worst would have to be thrusters.
- What your biggest achievement so far? Been trying to get handstand push-ups for ages and finally got them two weeks ago.
- What are your future goals? I really want bar and ring muscle ups.
- Tell us something we don’t know about you... My mum when I was younger made me do 4 years of ballroom dancing!
- Who’s your box buddy? Jordan Trevis he’s so dreamy
- Why did you start CrossFit? I was watching Netflix and saw a doco on Rich Froning at the CrossFit games I remember thinking wow all these guys are so damn fit and ripped and I thought to myself you should give this a go. I found a local box and started.
- What do you love about CrossFit Access? The people! The people that we train with on a day to day basis make it so awesome I look forward to coming to class sweating it out with everyone as well as running my mouth and talking to everyone! We have the best bunch of members ever!!!
- Any advice for anyone just starting their CrossFit journey? Just get it there and do it!! You might be thinking I’m not fit enough for this but the great coaches help you in every way possible and your always gonna get better and fitter!! You won’t regret it.
